About CRL's Digital Collections

CRL digitizes materials from our collections to support research and teaching. The current digital collection includes over 36,000 titles, dissertations, newspapers, books, journals, archives and government documents, which we have scanned in response to Interlibrary Loan requests for physical items in CRL's collection. Common requests range from a single volume to multiple years of a newspaper or serial. We also welcome requests for groups of thematic items in preparation for future research and instruction needs or to complement collections held by our member libraries.

To access CRL's full collection of 1.5 million titles, please search the CRL catalog.

For more information about CRL's digital services, please see CRL's website or contact CRL's Access Initiatives at asd@crl.edu.

Some online resources in the CRL Catalog are restricted to member institutions and are accessible via IP authentication. To enable access for users connecting from off-campus locations, we recommend that CRL member institutions take the following steps:

Configure Your Proxy Server Add the following CRL hostnames to your institution’s proxy server configuration to ensure seamless access through your proxy service:

Update CRL Links on Your Website On your library website, prepend your institution’s proxy prefix to all links directing users to CRL-hosted resources. This ensures off-campus users are routed through your proxy server and properly authenticated.

Note: CRL member institutions manage their own proxy configurations. If users encounter issues accessing CRL digital collections remotely, they should begin by consulting their home institution’s library for support.
