Below the title is a large woodcut representing (at left) a music master and (at right) a young woman playing the harp; in the upper section of the cut is a scroll with the hexachord, ut re mi fa sol la. First edition? Gesner's Bibliotheca, 1574, p. 83, contains the following statement: "Balthassar Praspergius Merspurgensis scipedt de Musica chorali librum, regulis multis ac exemplis varijs refertum, & excusum in quarto, Basileae anno Domini 1500."
